We’re thrilled to announce one of the most highly-anticipated features of all times – the treatment board! With help from several of our customers we completely re-envisioned how the care of hospitalized patients should be managed. After many months of work, we’re finally ready to share it with the world.
We completely redesigned how treatment information is presented to make it easier to access and to help reduce mistakes. Rather then relying on a grid approach, which obscures what needs to happen next, we gave each patient its own timeline of activities (such as giving medications, recording vitals, or contacting the owner). Instead of searching through a sea of squares, our treatment board focuses solely on the leftmost part of the screen, which always shows what’s next for each patient.
We also took special care to integrate every part of of the treatment into other parts of the software. For example, patients can be admitted from an appointment, and an appointment is also used to discharge them. Also, billing, inventory, and medical records are automatically updated as activities are completed for each patient.
To make sure everyone stays on the same page, the treatment board updates in real time, as do each of the activities. If someone is already working on an activity, everyone else can see that. We even added a way to broadcast the treatment board on a TV so everyone has a place to quickly see what’s happening with each patient.
A lot of hard work went into this project – from our engineering team, to our customers who provided input throughout the process and helped us beta test. Many thanks to everyone for helping us get to this day. But this is only the beginning! As is the case with everything we build, the treatment board will continue to evolve as we receive feedback and come up with other innovative solutions for our customers. Enjoy!
