We're thrilled to announce our partnership with Midwest Veterinary Laboratory, a full-service laboratory located in St. Louis, MO that currently services large and small animal veterinary practices, zoos, universities, and research facilities.
Welcome to the tip of the week. This week we take a look at the "history" of an appointment. This often-overlooked feature documents the entire life of an appointment, and can provide useful insight when what happened with an appointment is unclear.
So, where is this history?
The appointment history can be found in two places. First, you'll find the "history" link at the bottom of the appointment in the schedule.
Alternatively, you can find it under the "appointments" tab in the patient/client profile.
Now that I found it, what does it do?
Well, a lot actually. Every single change to the appointment - from creation to checking out - is meticulously logged for your review. This includes information about who created the appointment (and when), what changes were made to the appointment (and who made them and when), and when the status of the appointment was changed (and again, who and when). If there is ever a question about who changed something, what was changed, or when it was changed, the appointment history will capture it for you.
Here's a simple example of the history for an appointment I created, checked in, then checked out:
Appointment histories are captured automatically any time an appointment is changed. This history is useful in difusing touchy situations with client, and also provide an opportunity to train staff when mistakes are made.
