Welcome to the tip of the week. This week we focus on printing prescription labels. With the imminent demise of Google Cloud Print, we set to work to build our own solution that provides the same flexibility to print labels from any device, but that is more reliable, easier to set up, and faster. Today we'll look at how our solution works, and wave goodbye to Google Cloud Print.
Why did Google decide to kill Cloud Print?
Excellent question! Nobody knows (and Googling for answer didn't help). But, when one door closes, another opens. We saw this as an opportunity to take control of the entire label printing process to ensure that it meets our standards of reliablity and ease-of-use.
How does label printing work now?
It's simple, actually. We developed a tiny application that gets installed on the computer that runs the printer. Our application works on Windows and Mac! The entire setup takes two minutes - download the application from your account, install it, and select the printers you want to share. Once that's done, you'll see your printers in your account - you can even rename them and set a default printer. Once the setup is done, you'll be able to print labels to any printer in the practice from any device!
Our new printing solution offers a far better printing experience that is faster, more reliable, and easier to manage. No more worring aboug which Google account to use, or keeping the browser on all the time. Our solution works behind the scenes to keep your practice humming!
